John is a professional conductor, holding a bachelor's degree in choral music education and a master's degree in choral conducting. He studied the art of choral conducting under Barlow Bradford at the University of Utah where he sang in and conducted the U of U Chamber Choir, winners of the Grand Prix de la Ville de Tours (2014) and the Grand Prix Européen (2015), widely regarded as the world cup in amateur choral performance. Since then, John has conducted various ensembles and brought his particular style to each of them.
